BioMat TGU (Transfer- und Gründerunternehmung)@TTI GmbH was founded by Prof. Dr.-Ing Hanaa Dahy in 2022, based on the concept of BioMat@Stuttgart (2016) at the University of Stuttgart and BioMat@Copenhagen (2022) at the Aalborg University.

Our goal at BioMat is to explore innovative solutions for future sustainable Architecture. The design philosophy of BioMat sees material properties as a design tool, merging the fields of Material Research, Architectural Design, and Digital Fabrication to create feasible sustainable applications for the built environment.

Ecobuild 2018

Materials meanings; some unexpected benefits of re-working waste material – under this title, Jun.-Prof. Hanaa Dahy will give a lecture at the Ecobuild 2018 conference at ExCeL London, 06-08 march 2018, one of the leading events for sustainability and ecological innovation in the building industry. The lecture will introduce a discussion on the application of recycled materials and innovative design and fabrication techniques for a more sustainable built environment. In the conference workshop session WasteZone, experts from the world of material invention and product design will make individual presentations about their practice and research before discussing ideas around sustainable material flows and material meanings. BCC Biocomposites Conference Cologne

Jun.-Prof. Hanaa Dahy gave a lecture entitled “Biocomposites for Architecture Between Design and Fabrication – Current and Future Visions” on December 7, 2017 at the BCC Biocomposites Conference Cologne, the largest international conference on Biocomposites applications in industry.

Workshop with Students from CTU Prague

As part of the Material and Structure Course (MML II – Material Matter Lab) directed by Jun.-Prof. Hanaa Dahy, architects and students from CTU Czech Technical University Prague joined our students from the Bachelors and Masters program in architecture at the University of Stuttgart and 3rd semester ITECH students for a workshop in cooperation with IFB (Institute for Aircraft Design – University of Stuttgart).
