CONCEPT
BioMat TGU (Transfer- und Gründerunternehmung)@TTI GmbH was founded by Prof. Dr.-Ing Hanaa Dahy in 2022, based on the concept of BioMat@Stuttgart (2016) at the University of Stuttgart and BioMat@Copenhagen (2022) at the Aalborg University.
Our goal at BioMat is to explore innovative solutions for future sustainable Architecture. The design philosophy of BioMat sees material properties as a design tool, merging the fields of Material Research, Architectural Design, and Digital Fabrication to create feasible sustainable applications for the built environment.

The lecture highlights an innovative trend in sustainable architecture, in which architectural design is derived from annually renewable resources and digital manufacturing using bio-based materials. On the 18th of November Prof. Dahy gave a lecture at a prestige workshop on “Timber Construction/Bioeconomy” organized by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen: DGNB eV.
ZKM lecture
The ZKM | Zentrum für Kunst und Medien (Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe), which is a renowned well-known culture and arts center in Germany had held the Karlsruher Forum 2020 on Wednesday the 14th of October 2020 with the topic of “New materials for a new world for our future” (Bioal¬che¬mie – unsere Zukunft? Neue Materia¬lien für eine neue Welt) . Prof. Hanaa Dahy has held an introductory lecture in this event with the title: Gold Straw replaces Plastic!
