Lecture at grow.build.repeat. symposium

Prof. Dahy gives a lecture at grow.build.repeat. symposium organized by KIT Karlsruhe and Change Labs. The symposium is dedicated to the question of how we can use our natural resources responsibly in times of climate change and an increasingly glaring shortage of resources and pollution of our environment by non-biodegradable and artificially manipulated materials.

Speakers: Martin Rauch, Prof. Dr. Marie-Pierre Laborie, Dr. Henk Jonkers, Dr. Alireza Javadian, Werner Schmidt, Prof. Eike Roswag-Klinge, Andrea Klinge, Natascha Hempel, Jun. Prof. Dr. Hanaa Dahy, Diana Drewes and Dr. Michael Sailer.

Keynote Speech at Agriforvalor Brussels

Jun.-Prof. Hanaa Dahy is giving a keynote speech at the international final conference of the European Union project AGRIFORVALOR in Brussels on Friday, July 6, 2018. Discover more infos about the EU project Agriforvalor at the project website.

The conference covers potentials and opportunities of a sustainable bioeconomy and the link between bioeconomy and certain industries like the building industry. The Best Business Model Award – awarded in a ceremony at the conference – is designed and fabricated by the BioMat team! The trophy is made of a bio-based elastic fibreboard called BioFlexi developed by BioMat.

Ecobuild 2018

Materials meanings; some unexpected benefits of re-working waste material – under this title, Jun.-Prof. Hanaa Dahy will give a lecture at the Ecobuild 2018 conference at ExCeL London, 06-08 march 2018, one of the leading events for sustainability and ecological innovation in the building industry. The lecture will introduce a discussion on the application of recycled materials and innovative design and fabrication techniques for a more sustainable built environment. In the conference workshop session WasteZone, experts from the world of material invention and product design will make individual presentations about their practice and research before discussing ideas around sustainable material flows and material meanings.
